Welcome to the St. Mary's Academy Parents' Guild
Membership in the Parents' Guild
All parents and guardians of girls attending St. Mary's Academy are members of the Parents' Guild. You will be joining a community of parents whose care and concern is evident through the many facets of the Guild. Click this link to view the Parents' Guild Executive and Committee members.
Volunteering with the Parents' Guild
By volunteering, you will become active in a community of dedicated parents who graciously give of their time and talents. Volunteering is a gift that goes both ways; it gives you an opportunity to help out where needed, as well as giving you the chance to connect with other parents, thus further instilling the school's desire to foster and build a strong community. The Guild is thankful of any amount of time you are able to spend with us. To sign up as a volunteer click this link for the online volunteer sign-up form.

Purpose of the Parents' Guild
1) Community Building: By running the events and ongoing activities listed below, your Parents' Guild endeavors to meet its purposes; fostering a sense of community by bringing together its parents, and promoting the well being of St. Mary's Academy by helping to further the work of the school.
Events and Activities lead by the Parents' Guild
International Day - A fun-filled day at the school that celebrates the multicultural diversity of the school through entertainment and culinary treats.
Hospitality Committee - Dedicated to providing light refreshments at various events at the school, such as the Wine & Cheese, the Parent Guild Christmas Party, Open House, Staff Appreciation Luncheon, the Carnival and Convocation.
Bingo - Parents' Guild volunteers work various Bingos throughout the school year in order to raise funds for projects that enhance the school.
Tartan Shoppe - Providing our young ladies with the latest in uniform fashion.
Corner Store - This little gem sells the non-uniform items of clothing favoured by teens - sweats & hoodies, along with a good selection of candy treats.
2) Financial Support: Proceeds from these endeavours serve to assist the school financially with selected projects. Funds are also generated through bingos awarded to us by Manitoba Lotteries, which the Guild assists with by providing volunteers.
Parents' Guild Meetings
Our meetings are held in SMA's Durocher Library the first Tuesday of September, October, December, February, March, May and June. We begin at 7pm and strive to keep our meetings under 90 minutes.
Meetings are where we discuss Guild activities, make decisions on how to spend the money we raise, and receive updates on school matters from Connie Yunyk, President of St. Mary's Academy. Meetings also provide parents with an opportunity to mingle and get to know one another. Please click this link to see dates and times of our meetings.
